What action is in this painting! Ka'ena Point has some of the most powerful surf on the island of Oahu, and that's saying something. The rip tides and undertows are also powerful, though, making this area unsafe for surfing for the most part. In this painting, a Laysan albatross circles above foaming waves. I have to thank my Hawaii son for the photos he takes. They give me a great reference to paint the beautiful shores of Hawaii.
