French Lilacs are the old fashioned lilac shrubs that are so well loved, blooming in late spring at a height of 12-20 feet. But rather than enjoying only the lavender-colored variety, we have many cultivars of this lilac to choose from from white to pink to deep blue-purple.
Here, I've painted a deep reddish lilac that makes a nice contrast to my other lilacs blooming at the same time.
It's February and cold here again, snowing on and off. The thought of lilacs blooming in the spring is a welcome thought indeed!
