American Goldfinch & Pink Crabapple Blossoms - Watercolor Painting
I saw a male goldfinch at the feeder the other day. He was halfway into acquiring his pretty lemon yellow spring plumage. In winter, they are a dull color. He was mottled with bright yellow and dull olive green. But by the time my crabapple tree is in bloom, he'll be beautiful! In this painting, you see him in his full glory...and the tree as well.
