Marble Canyon, British Columbia Watercolor Landscape Painting
I love this view of Marble Canyon in Kootenay National Park, British Columbia. The water is an incredible pale blue-green color and paired with the golds and oranges of autumn, it is even more spectacular.
A friend took a trip there (lucky him because it is a gorgeous place) and let me use his photo as inspiration for a painting.

Snowy Owl Original Watercolor Painting

Owls are amazing creatures. Their haunting hoots echo mysteriously through the dark glades of the forest. They fly on soundless wings without a rustle and if you don't happen to look up, you will never know one passed by.
I had always thought they are only nocturnal birds - and they do indeed wake me up when the windows are open on many a spring and summer night. But on my many walks, I often pass by a deep dark patch of evergreen forest and whether it is morning, afternoon or evening, the owls are often hooting from the depths of it.
It's always a pleasure to see an owl in the wild because it happens unexpectedly. I have seen and heard Great Horned Owls and Barred Owls, Screech Owls, barn owls and little saw whet owls.

East Beach Limited Edition Fine Art Print 8x12

| East Beach Print 8x12 |
East Beach is a Rhode Island beach that spans a couple of miles. It is on a protected conservation area - a strip of land divided from the mainland by an inlet. Just the kind of place I like. The main beach may sometimes be crowded, but all it takes is a short walk to find solitude. Quiet but for the crash of waves onto the shore and the cry of sea birds in the air.
Ah, peace...

Yellow Daffodil Flowers Watercolor Painting
Bright daffodils are blooming on the hill, in the garden and all along the roadsides wherever there is a house.
They truly are a thing of beauty after a dreary winter, bringing sunny hope for more blooms to arrive soon. Best of all, they do not even feel the affects of a light snowfall such as we had the other day. I see them out there warmly nodding their yellow heads in the cold breeze now.
So, I painted a watercolor picture of daffodils. It's 5x7 inches, just a small painting. There are more narcissus out there in combinations of yellow and white. I may decide to paint those too!
